OCHS After Prom Committee Presents “If They Had Known” – Teens’ Reflection on the Party Culture – OCHS Viewing
April 9, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeApril is Alcohol Awareness month, and MAC is partnering with the Ocean City After Prom Committee to host two community presentations in early April on Teens and the Party Culture. The target audience is parents and teens high school age and older. The presentation will feature remarks from a panel of professionals concerned about the Party Culture and its effects on our teens. Experts from the fields of substance abuse prevention, healthcare and law enforcement will join with parents to discuss the latest worrisome trends related to underage drinking and its hazards. The presentation will also include a screening of “If They Had Known,” a short film by teens reflecting on what they wish they had known about the risks of the Party Culture.
The presentations will be held on April 8th 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Upper Township Middle School Cafeteria and on April 9th 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Ocean City High School Library. Two sessions of the same presentation are being offered to accommodate the busy schedules of parents and our high school teens. Parents of children of all ages are welcome. Due to the sensitive nature of the film that will be shown, it is recommended that teens high school age and above attend. The Ocean City After Prom Committee is offering extra chances to win the “BIG” Junior or Senior After Prom Prize to teens and parents who attend the presentation.
A flyer regarding the event is attached. Please help us publicize the presentations by sharing this email and flyer with parents and high school teens. Questions regarding the presentations can be directed to (609) 628-2011 ext. 248
