Division of Emergency Medical Services

Upper Township Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is responsible for answering any calls for medical aid within the 68 square miles of Upper Township. The EMS Division staffs up to three (3) BLS ambulances, ready to respond 24/7.  The Division of EMS is funded by Upper Township and employs ten full time Emergency Medical Technicians and as many as twenty part-time / seasonal Emergency Medical Technicians.  The Division of EMS shares its quarters with the Upper Township Rescue Squad.  The Rescue Squad, which is strictly volunteer, provides additional support to the Division of EMS should additional ambulances or assets be needed. Together, the Division of EMS and the Rescue Squad work together towards the same purpose: to provide the highest level of quality care and service to the residents and visitors of Upper Township.

Community Engagement

Upper Township Emergency Medical Services works very diligently to support our community outside of the world of 911 response. This includes offering public access to training initiatives such as CPR/AED, Stop the Bleed, and other education opportunities. We also work closely with local community groups and schools to arrange public relations events, helping us to get to know the community better and vise versa. We frequently provide short presentations on “how to prepare for an emergency before it happens” and help educate the public on how the emergency 911 system works. If you are interested in a CPR/AED class, Stop the Bleed class, or any other public relation opportunities, please send an inquiry to emsoutreach@uppertownship.com
