Licensed Vendors for Door to Door Solicitation
If someone is going door-to-door trying to sell products or services and they are not licensed by the township to do so, you have the right to contact the police.
- Upper Township requires all door-to-door solicitors to register and obtain a license. (4-5.4 Application for Registration & License)
- Anyone soliciting without a license is violating Township ordinance. (4-5.3 Registration & License Required)
- Police can and will take action when warranted.
All licensed vendors are required to carry and show a badge issued by Upper Township indicating that they are an Upper Township Licensed Vendor.
The badge includes their picture, name, and company name. (4-5.8 Form of License; Badge to be Displayed)

Residents that do not want door to door sales are welcome to display a sign stating No Solicitation.

To verify if a solicitor is registered and licensed as a vendor who may solicit in Upper Township, call the Clerk’s office by dialing 609-628-2011 ext. 200
If a solicitor refuses to leave or makes you uncomfortable, don’t hesitate to contact local law enforcement. For non-emergent issues, contact the State Police at 609-861-5698. In case of emergency, dial 911.
